Series structure
For Tony Meola's Sidekicks Soccer, there would be 3 separate championships: World Cup, Inter-Cities League, and J-League Challenge Cup.
World Cup
This tournament is for the national teams and would consists of a 4-team round-robin group stage followed by 16-team single-elimination knockout stage.
Inter-Cities League
This tournament is for the city teams in US version and would consists of:
- Regional league stage
Each team would play once with each team in its region and once with 2 teams from each of other regions. First place of each region after 13 games will qualify directly to the Inter-Cities Championship. - Regional championship qualification
For each regional league, 2nd place and all teams below with at least 20 points from their 13 games will have a stepladder tournament based on points. Should there be several teams with equal points, those teams will have a standard elimination bracket, joined with winner from lower points if there is any. Final winner of each tournament will qualify for the Championship. If 3rd place have less than 20 points, 2nd place automatically qualify, regardless of their points. - Inter-Cities Championship

J-League Challenge Cup
This tournament is for the city teams in JP version and would consists of:
- League stage
Each team would play once with each team in its league, with USA and Europe section combined into one league, and carrying over match-up results from Inter-Cities League. Four teams from each league will qualify to the Championship. - Challenge Series
2 4-team single-elimination tournament for each league and then the winners will play in The J-League Challenge Cup Final.
